Corbett Gardens in Bowral, one of the region’s oldest and most beautiful parks, is the centre piece of the Spring Garden Festival with over 75,000 massed tulips on display and 20,000 annuals. The Festival attracts over 39,000 people each year and is held at the end of September over two This garden is a public garden and managed by the local council. Entry to the garden is free of charge at most times, however, an entry fee applies during the Tulip Time Festival, which this year runs from Tuesday September 12 until Sunday September 24. It should be noted the garden will be closed for Tulip Time set up on Monday September 11.

Arthur Byrne Reserve is a large grassed beachside park located directly adjacent to Maroubra Beach. It has many grassed areas screened by native trees and shrubs, making it an ideal location for a BBQ or picnic. Larger and more open areas are used for kite flying, informal ball sports, walking and jogging. Park facilities include picnic shelters, BBQs, bubblers, beach access and toilets and change rooms in the SLSC. The Maroubra Skate Park is located within the reserve. There is also a free outdoor gym which contains a wide range of strength and cardio equipment. Alcohol is prohibited at Arthur Byrne Reserve from sunset to sunrise. Public toilets are located on the Maroubra Beach promenade.

Muston Park is named after William Thomas Muston, the original owner of the land and Mayor of Willoughby 1890. His home ‘Penshurst’ stood in the middle of the land which was subdivided and sold in 1921. Rose Bay Park is a small park located below the Rose Bay Police Station and bounded between Point Piper Marina and Rose Bay Marina. The park provides a sandy beach and a shaded picnic area. This park is often used for small wedding ceremonies as there are many nearby reception venues. Rose Bay was named after The Right Honourable George Rose (he was not knighted) who was joint Secretary to the British Treasury with Thomas Steele, after whom Steel(e) Point at Nielsen Park was named. Predominantly a facility for younger users, this playground capitalises on the existing trees as integral parts of the play space; creating child-scale play gardens. The playground is subtly divided into separate play spaces connected by colourful stepping stone pathways, low level bridges, quiet sitting areas dotted with giant rubber toadstools, and a range of ground level activities. Out in the main play area a central deck structure offers slides and a cubby area while a four-person spring-mounted pony rocker and a giant spinning teacup offer fun activities for small groups. Small sculptures scattered around the gardens offer wonderful ‘discoveries’ for the youngsters.

Bundock Park is located directly adjacent to Clovelly Beach. On the southern side of the beach you will find an amenities building, beach inspectors’ office, the Sea Salt Cafe, picnic shelters, BBQs and external showers. A children’s playground is located in a small grassed area behind the beach. There are also several small, grassed picnic areas, many of which are enclosed by mature native planting. On the northern side of the bay there are formal pathways, picnic shelters, BBQs, and extensive plantings of native trees and shrubs. The Coastal Walkway runs through the park and it is popular with walkers and joggers.
